One day workshop with Rachel Hirabayashi
This workshop allows you to learn some
basic watercolour techniques, recording places and memories of New
Zealand in a unique and personally designed journal.
Start the day down in old Cromwell after
an introduction in Rachel’s studio. Take inspiration from the
beautiful mountain and lake scenery surrounding you. Sketch
there, have a nice cup of coffee, then return to the studio in
order to start the watercolour process. Lunch includes a visit
to a charming local winery and more sketching. After returning to the
studio,
finish off using water colour and marvel at your personalised NZ
travel journal!
About the tutor
Rachel is a full time painter in acrylics
and watercolour. She has travelled extensively to a variety of
countries where she has created journals that now mean far more
to her than simple photographs. Her home is a 100 year old
cottage. Her working studio is in the front room. She
lives surrounded by copious amounts of strange things and is
constantly entertained by her 3 dogs. Rachel has exhibited
widely in the south island and paints every day.
