Weekend workshops and Two-day workshops
with Pat George.
Pat will begin with an introduction to Foxhanger Studio.  There you will learn the basics of mosaics including the tools, materials, and techniques. Mosaic books, design patterns, and Pat’s work will be available for inspiration. Select from a wide variety of materials to create your own piece of mosaic artwork.  Pat will help you with creating designs taking you step by step through your project.  On the last day you will complete your mosaic masterpiece by grouting and marvel at your creativity.

About the tutor
Pat George was a ceramic artist for twenty years before discovering her passion for mosaics.  Her work often features unique found materials such as stone pebbles, flax, päua, glass pebbles, mother of pearl and bone china. Pat’s Foxhanger Studio has been privately and publicly commissioned to craft everything from community park benches to garden sculptures to panels for homes and businesses. Her work has been featured in art exhibitions including the Ngāpuhi Festival 2010. Pat taught mosaics for five years at Kaurilands Skills Centre Tokatoka and now runs regular workshops at her studio.

Weekend workshops:
Fri 7pm to 9pm prep & design, Saturday and Sunday 10am - 4pm
Two-day workshops:
Saturday 10am – 4pm, Sun 10am - 4pm
Price per participant: NZ$150 for individual. 2-6 people NZ$120 each
Price includes:
Tea, coffee and lunch including home grown organic produce and local specialty foods of the region are provided. Materials are not included.

Foxhanger Studio is a lovely garden studio located at Moawaka Villa B & B, which is situated on the beautiful Kaipara Harbour along the Kauri Coast towards the Far North of New Zealand. Just up the road is the Kauri Museum with cafés and restaurants in Paparoa & Matakohe, Dargaville 45 kms, Waipoua Forest 95 kms, Bay Of Islands 153 kms, Auckland 140kms, Whangarei 82kms.
Notes: Please wear comfortable older clothes to work in, as work is dusty.
